Hello Fellow Homeschooling Families! I am elated to be teaching with Eagle River Homeschool again and look forward to offering custom educational experiences, focused on engaging our young learners and inspiring their innate enthusiasm for learning.
My professional teaching career began many moons ago in rural Wisconsin. In 2004, I moved to Alaska and continued my career as a certified teacher. For the past 20 years I’ve had the privilege to teach multiple subjects to elementary and middle school students all around this great state. Now, as a homeschooling parent, I am thrilled to share my talents and experience with others as we partner and enjoy this journey together.
I am ambitiously passionate about place-based learning, the science of reading, school choice, and getting kids active outdoors. In 2022, I started Last Frontier Learning, rooted in a growing passion to serve fellow homeschooling families through enrichment classes, tutoring services, and educational consulting. It is my goal to support families in their efforts to educate their child(ren) in the best way they see fit.
I believe Alaska is one of the richest classrooms in the nation and I feel blessed to be here! Some of our family’s favorite activities include: fishing uncrowded rivers, tidepooling, beachcombing, summer campfire time, snowshoeing, traveling, and bike riding year ‘round.
