Miss Rey To All Instructors
My name is Miss Rey, and I’m excited to be part of the Eagle River homeschool community as both a Chinese teacher and a coding/technology teacher. I was born in China and came to the United States by myself at age 16 to study abroad. I earned my degree from Baylor University and am now pursuing my second graduate degree at Georgia Tech, focusing on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Alaska has become my home, and I’m grateful to share both my Chinese heritage and technology background with homeschool families.
I have teaching experience through summer camps, the Alaska Chinese Association, local language programs, and homeschool classes. In my Chinese classes, students learn practical Mandarin through culture, crafts, food, stories, holidays, dragon dance, kung fu, and hands-on activities. In my coding and LEGO classes, students explore beginner coding, problem-solving, internet safety, cybersecurity, and real-life technology examples.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy creative projects, learning new things, and exploring Alaska. I believe learning should be interactive, meaningful, and fun, and I look forward to meeting your family.
