Alaska Junior Theater Presents - Kattam and His Tam-Tams 

  • $10 per seat. (Anyone, no matter the age, that is in a seat is $10 - including parents)
  • Must pre-pay 
  • Tickets are non-refundable
  • Must sign up and payment completed by 9:00am on Tuesday, October 14th
  • Space is limited to 40 tickets
  • Please arrive in the lobby and check in with the Eagle River Homeschool Volunteer Leader by 10:45am- the show starts at 11:00am
  • Parents must accompany children at all times during the show and are responsible making sure kids are behaving respectfully

  Can younger siblings come?

Yes. Anyone old enough to sit in a seat must purchase a ticket and be registered on the Eagle River Homeschool website.  Each seat ticket is $10.  Infants and young siblings who will sit on a parent's lap will be free.  

 

Award-winning percussionist and storyteller Kattam Laraki-Côté invites you to discover Africa, the Middle East and India through rhythm, song and dance in Kattam and His Tam-Tams! From African rap and desert dance to Moroccan trance sufi rhythms and Bollywood dance, Kattam will be your guide as you discover the musical styles he perfected studying under masters from around the world. Set to the sound of the n’goni, balafon, djembe, naffar, darbouka and dhol, Kattam draws on his extensive experience with youth and family audiences to lead an incredible multicultural adventure.

Kattam’s passion and excitement for world music shines throughout his performance. Accompanied by his monkey, Kattam never fails to delight and involve his audience! No matter your age, he will get you moving to the beat of his drums and help you find a beat of your own.
