Theresa Westerlund To All Instructors

[email protected]

Theresa Westerlund is a passionate ceramic artist and educator with a deep love for clay, creativity, and community. With years of hands-on experience in hand-building and wheel throwing, Theresa specializes in functional pottery and sculptural ceramics that reflect both rustic charm and thoughtful design.

As a dedicated teaching artist, Theresa brings her knowledge and enthusiasm into the classroom, guiding students of all ages through the full ceramic process—from shaping and building to glazing and kiln firing. Her classes emphasize creative exploration, skill development, and the joy of working with your hands.

Theresa holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and blends her artistic practice with a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and community-based education. She teaches ceramics in a variety of settings, including homeschool programs, art centers, and private workshops. Her teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to find their own artistic voice while honoring traditional techniques like pinch, coil, slab, and wheel work.

When she’s not teaching or throwing pots, you can find her hiking Alaska’s wild trails, gardening, or creating in her home studio nestled in the Eagle River hillside.
